A little decorating for this upcoming season

I have fallen victim to the awesome-ness of Pinterest. I love all the millions of crafting, decorating, and cooking ideas. I have strangely been able to restrict myself to only looking at Pinterest to about once or twice a week which is great because I think someone could get WAY into it. Maybe I'm just not there yet...

I 've seen all the many DIY flag banners for this occasion and that occasion and I knew with our very small small small budget this year it was going to be all about the DIY decor compliments of the Dollar Store. (or Euro store here).

I had this vision of a cute DIY flag banner/garland but I needed supplies. I mentioned to my neighbor that I was going hunting to find some cheap Christmas stuff so we went together. Luckily she had spotted some cute wrapping paper the week before and we both went in on it. Success. A trip to the Euro store completed the items I needed and now it's all left to the craft bug in me.

We really want it to feel different in our apartment for Christmas and because Thanksgiving isn't a holiday in Italy we knew we could jump right into Christmas and not feel bad about letting the christmas music fill our home during the next coming weeks. The porticos around the city are already dressed with twinkle lights which is really beautiful. I can't wait to take a walk around the city when more lights go up. Maybe it will be our version of looking at Christmas lights on houses in the states.

Hope I can get those creative thoughts flowing!

  2. Brianna, I am so excited for you. It's really fun to think about how to make your home ready for the season. I can't wait to see what you come up with. You are always so creative. 'Tis the Season!
I'm also excited for you to be spending Christmas in another country. What a wonderful opportunity. I know we are all on budgets. I hope your budget allows for some token of your Christmas in Italy. Perfectio!
