Thanksgiving 2017 with the Haley's

So much glorious food!!!!

I can't believe this Thanksgiving post didn't make it in before Christmas! And here it is, the month of May, and I'm dead set on catching up on blogging! Because as much as I love my Chapbooks and how easy they are to print and keep my memories alive, I just can't give up on this blog and all the years of history it has. So once I'm done catching up, I think I will stick to doing a once a month blog post about all the happenings in the Smith home.

We love the Haley's and getting together with them for special Holidays. Lynne is so good at planning and that's why we get along so well. We are both hard core planners!

I made present rolls and for me and my fear of bread baking, they turned out SO delicious. I'm learning what recipes work for me and the environment I'm in. This recipe is a keeper!

I also brought over my mom's famous Yum Yum Yams. I think those Yams have circled the globe by now. Every Thanksgiving I've ever attended has had them -except for Italy :(
We also brought Ham, mashed potatoes and a chocolate silk pie.
Lynne made 2 green bean casseroles, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, derby pie and a pumpkin gingersnap cheesecake.

These kids make the holidays fun! Especially when they know they will be hunting turkeys later!

Chris has perfected the Turkey Hunt. I mean, just look at those turkeys and their beautiful details!
Chris and Lynne dutifully hid the turkeys around their neighborhood and the kids had to answer the riddles on the back to find out where the next turkey would be. Once they found the turkey, there would be hidden eggs with candy in them for all the kids.

It's rare for us to stop and get a picture together!
I'm so thankful for Lynne.

Nerf guns are the best guns for turkey hunting.

Good food, great friends and fun times. Such a great Thanksgiving!

Just look at how relaxed we are. The best reclining seat theater and the tickets are super cheap! Double win for our family.

That weekend we were able to see the movie Coco, which had Tyson and I crying like babies. It was all about how family is the most important thing in the world and all about family history. So many great lines in that movie about how families work together and love each other no matter what.

I love my little family and for the blessing they are in my life.
