Celebrating the 4th of July 2017

We've been super lucky to have a tame summer this year. There were a few super hot days where we didn't even want to go outside but for the most part, it was unusually cool!
But the 4th of July, the day we just have to be outside, was SOOOOOO HUMID!!!!
I mean, I sweated so much it was just gross. And that was just before the parade in the morning!
The girls were champions for sure.

We enjoyed the Palisades parade so much. We ended up getting fantastic spots though it meant we missed our friends. The girls came away with bags of candy and got bounce balls passed to them directly from the D.C. mayor. Pretty cool!

Then it was onto our favorite part of the 4th of July. At Long Bridge park in Arlington, the county puts on a great celebration with free bounce houses, face painting, balloons and so much more. This year they added a Ninja Warrior obstacle course. Taryn LOVED that. She saw that a group of boys were ahead of here during the relay and it clicked in her head that she needed to beat them. It was so amazing to watch her facial expression change to "I Can do this!!!" and she full on spirited to the end. I was blown away. Taryn is determined and incredibly fast. She ended up beating the older boys :)

A request for dogs all around for Taryn :)

Every where she goes, there has to be a twirly dress or skirt involved!

Brittany and Seth surprised us and met us for the celebration. I'm so glad they did! I'm not sure how much longer they will be living near us so I want to soak up all the time I can with them!

Sisters!!!

These kids love each other so much. Taryn is great with the twins and Haddie loves to help them.

It's not everyday that your 4th of July celebrations are closely monitored by snippers! Yikes! Welcome to the D.C. metro area (specifically the Pentagon!)

I bought tons of glowsticks to pass out to all the kids. I knew it would be fun for them while we waited for the fireworks AND it would make it easy for us to spot them in the dark. SCORE!

Love my Tyson who is always up for an adventure!

The crazy bunch of amazing kids we met up with.
I made M&M cookies for the group and the kids happily munched on them while playing with their glowsticks. I mean, serious fun for seriously cheap!!!!

We had a blast chatting with friends and enjoying the day. I think I cam home and took a shower I was so sweaty and stinky. But it was well worth it to party with friends and family.

I really love where we live!
