Rollin' with the big kids

Guess what this lil' rockstar can do? Roll over all by herself!

I was on the phone with my sister, Ashleigh, and I had just told her that Taryn was so close to rolling over by herself. I got home, changed Taryn's diaper, said goodbye to my sister and laid Taryn on a soft green blanket. Then she rolled over! and then she did it again, and again! I may have screamed with excitement over and over again. Tyson and I have been keeping a close eye on her while she's had tummy time for the past two weeks! This is a big deal :) She is growing up so fast!

My sister the missionary

Mackenzie just sent these pictures and I love them! The first is of all the California missionaries serving in her area. Transfers are coming up for her ( I think they happen this week) and it will be exciting to see where she will be next! I love reading her weekly emails and hearing about her hard work. She is awesome and we love her!

all of a sudden it's been 3 months

Taryn is three months old as of Sunday!
She can grab toys now and is so close to rolling over by herself (still needs a little push to get started) She can hold her head up like a pro and she is very curious about her surroundings.

Anything goes in her mouth- including her thumb and fingers. Yup we might have a thumb sucker on our hands. Is it crazy to be really worried about it? I don't want her to have teeth problems and I don't want her to get in the habit of sucking on her thumb or fingers forever! I hope this phase of hand in the mouth passes quickly!

Growing everyday

An example of finding her hand and putting in her mouth

She even smiles with her hand still in her mouth!

Her smiles are greatTaryn is also talking up a storm! She recently found out how to squeal and her favorite thing to say is "Oooo" "oooo" "Oooo" with a very excited face. She always has a great story to tell us.

For Fun

Blessing the Baby

I love that Taryn is apart of our family forever. I am grateful for a wonderful husband who is able to bless our daughter. I am happy to be a member of two great families who constantly love and support my little family.

The Skouson's- don't worry- we have already lined these two babes up to meet in the future!

Graduation Day!!!

This stud graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU with a degree in Economics, a Minor in Spanish and a certificate in International Business Studies.
He worked so hard throughout his schooling and we are so proud of what he has accomplished! Tyson picked out Taryn's ASU Sundevil onesie for her to wear on this special day and I bought a headband to match for her.
The Smith family represented by -far left- Travis, Ken, and Janette. Thank you so much for coming!
The Scott family represented by Jackie, Craig, and Brittany. Thank you for making the drive from California to be here!

It's now time to PARTY! and pack!

Surprise Party

Tyson will turn 24 after we leave the U.S.A for Thailand and Italy so I wanted to throw him a surprise party to celebrate with the long time friends we have in Arizona. A alot of our friends were planning to move or go on vacation as soon as finals were done so we had to squeeze the party in on the last day of finals for ASU and two days before Graduation.I was planning for 2 1/2 weeks and managed not to spoil the surprise! (Combo party- graduation, birthday, and good-bye)

Pictures below are some of our good friends.

The Boushley's live a couple of doors down from us and I used their house to stash all the party stuff.Taryn was very scared and started crying when we turned out the lights for the surprise. Maybe it didn't help that she was being held by someone else... "not da mama".

Thanks for helping us celebrate Tyson!

We like to celebrate

The end of finals at ASU FINALLY came. So we celebrated at Five Guys.

Mmmm...so good
This was the amount of fries that were left with when we couldn't possibly eat anymore. I think it was close to 1 lbs for two orders of fries!!!! But they were really good (tip- they are skimpy on the salt so add more salt and they are even better!) The story behind this place is really cool and they have won all kinds of "Best" awards.

Yea! He's done with finals at ASU forever!

I am a Mother!

My first Mother's Day was amazing. The morning started out so great and the day just continued to be that way.

These beautiful spring colored roses were picked out by Tyson. I love how they brighten our apartment

Because of this angel, I am a mother. And I love being her mother.

Tyson made THE BEST Egg Muffin Sandwiches. Layers of egg, canadian bacon, and cheese...oh and Tyson added his signature touch. A thin layer of cheese between two canadian bacon pieces- to melt the cheese perfectly. Delicious.

There is this book that I heard about one day while driving and listening to NPR. It's called Cinderella Ate My Daughter. They interviewed the author and I just laughed! I thought it sounded like such an interesting book. I told Tyson about it and even shared thoughts about it with family. I just finished reading What Einstein told his Cook and talked to Tyson about how I would like to get that book someday and read it. For Mother's Day, Tyson purchased the Book on his Kindle so we can take it to Italy with us ( so I don't have to take a big heavy book on the plane with me) What a perfect gift! It was a total surprise and very thoughtful. Tyson made me feel so very special.

The day finished with a great dinner. Tys made a delicious Strawberry Limeade from scratch (making his own strawberry sauce and everything) and a yummy salad. He does so much for me and I know that I am a lucky girl to have him. What a wonderful Mother's Day

2 Month Check Up

Taryn had her two month check up and she is doing great! Weighing in at 12 lbs 11.5 oz! She just keeps growing!
Some new tricks of Taryn's

Biting her lower lip just because
Making all sorts of sounds
She laughed in church for the first time. Tys and I were cracking up!
She's starting to reach for toys now and is learning how to control her arms. It's still a slow process but I consider it monumental! I can't believe how fast she's growing!
Taryn is going to bed around 9:30pm now! Yea!
She has slept through the night a handful of times
and she still melts our hearts with her big smiles everyday

Family Fitness

We went to a Ward Activity on Saturday at the park. It was all about Fitness and Fun. I tried my hand at the hulu hoops thinking I could pick it up easily after years of not doing it....

ya no. In my defense, this hulu hoops were tiny! Or maybe I've just lost my groove.

Tyson, however, had it down. He had all three hulu hoops spinning at once. Yup- he's pretty rock awesome.

Then there was the "missionary relay" where you had to dress up with a shirt, tie, shoes, and pants and race back and forth with a partner- switching clothes as you finished.

This was hilarious to watch them try to beat the other team

I think this is when Tyson realized he was wearing a girl's shirt.
Looking very snazy

This little girl was all tuckered out after. She was perfect at the park and was loving all the action. I put her on this blanket and she was talking away. As I talked back and smiled at her she started to fall asleep. Pretty much the cutest thing ever.
